Dubai
Dubai
I have been very blessed in my life thus far to travel anywhere that I have wanted. If anybody ever asked me to tell them something about me that they didn’t know, my response would be that I love to travel. I travel at least 4 times a year out of the country and just as much Domestically .
I made a bucket list about 2 years ago. On that list I have several dream destinations, that inspire and motivate me to wanna kick my travel game up. Some of these destinations have been very intimidating to me because of the long flights over the ocean. Strange thing is that as many vacations as I take to the beach, Im afraid of water (Don’t judge me😛). It terrifies me to think I’d be flying over water for hours and hours. But that’s another story because every year I say I’m gonna take swim lessons and I haven’t to date.
I decided to overcome those fears and tackle my bucket list. I booked a vacation to Dubai, which was my top destination on my places to visit. I’ve always seen other people posts, pictures and blogs on their Dubai adventures and I knew I had to visit there as well. This place is so magical to me and it did not disappoint. If I had to describe Dubai id say it looks very futuristic. Their infrastructure is so much more advanced than anyplace I’ve visited this far.
Dubai has a very large variety of tourist attractions. They are also known for having the world’s tallest building (Burg Khalifa )and a mall with over 1200 stores. If you love to shop as much as I do, you’re gonna need about 3 days to get through the entire mall and some extra luggage. Other popular attractions include the worlds largest picture frame museum with an observatory deck at the top that includes a transparent floor.
Make sure to add Dinner in the Sky to your list of things to do. Nighttime is best in order to see the beautiful futuristic skyline in lights. There was so many things to do I’ll definitely be visiting Dubai again soon.
As far as accommodations, the Five Palm Jumeriah Hotel was a winner. This five star modern hotel sits on Dubai’s man made beach. They have a variety of restaurants, night clubs, and a daily beach party. The rooms were quite spacious with plenty of closet space and huge balconies. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The food was really good, but don’t expect those huge proportions that we are use. Other countries are very health conscious about serving sizes and don’t over eat with huge proportions like we do in America. Don’t forget to book that luxurious spa appointment or hangout in the cigar & whiskey lounge.
Here’s an itinerary of my personal experiences while in Dubai.
Day 1 we visited The Miracle Garden. I was like a kid in a candy store. I am a flower enthusiast that’s head over heels in love with fresh flowers. This was a must see for me. The beauty & colors of the displays are out of this world amazing. The pictures we see online does no justice for this garden. I’d say you need at least 3 hrs to see it all. There’s nonstop photo opps Everywhere!
Second stop was the Dubai mall, it has over 1200 stores. Shop-a-Holic Heaven😍. Every type of store you could think of was here. They had all of your low to high end designer stores, furniture stores, grocery & cosmetic stores, luggage stores etc. If you love to shop and plan on visiting Dubai make sure you come prepared to spend a lot of money. We also went to the Dubai outlet malls. We didn’t find much there, and honestly the prices wasn’t any different than the regular mall.
Day 2 Dinner in the sky. I was scared as hell at the thought of floating in the air eating. Being the team player I am and learning to face all my fears, I wasn’t gonna be left behind. I was also along for the adventure and wanted to experience something Ive never experienced before. Imagine sitting 164ft (50 meters) in the air on a open platform swinging from a forklift. You are double buckled in your seat which gave me a lil bit more security. When your being lifted in the air it goes so slow and smooth that you don’t even realize your moving. The cooks and Dj are harnessed in the center. My favorite genres of R&B & hip hop music playing was a great distraction for me. Your served a three course meal. All while spinning around 360 degrees watching the beautiful skyline. We went at night which In my opinion was the best time to experience Dubai’s beautiful well lit skyline. It was lit up in the most gorgeous colors you’ve ever seen in a skyline. Total time in the air was an hour, and time passes by rather fast. I loved it in the end and would definitely do it again. Experience of a lifetime!!!
Day 3 We rented a yacht on the Dubai Marina. There was only 5 of us so we didn’t need anything too big. The ride on the yacht takes you around Dubai where you see another perspective of this beautiful city.
Our last excursions was a trip to the Sahara Desert to ride ATVs, camels, and sand boarding. This trip would not have been complete without (name of garments). The gift shop there sells them making it convenient to purchase them before the tours began. The Tour guide takes you on a trail miles and miles out into the desert. Our Guide found some nice hills and we stopped to sand-board. Sand Boarding puts you in the mind of skiing, it’s just on sand. I was happy to have done a few things on this trip that I have never done before. Although I rode on camels before, I felt like this time gave me the experience I was supposed to have.
This was a only a 4 day trip, but I had some of the best adventurous times than I’ve ever had on vacation. If you have never visited Dubai before, this is your confirmation to book that flight and TRAVEL NOW!!!
